These yarn hearts make beautiful and colorful cards with texture!
Get Started
Here are a list of materials that you will need to get started.
Materials
- A5 Card stocks
- Watercolour paint & brush (*You can use Coloured Card Stocks.)
- Cord Mat or coaster
- Sewing thread & needle
- Pre-print Heart shaped dotted keylines
Yarn is much preferred but with shops closed and movement restricted during circuit breaker, simply use the sewing thread that's available at home.
STEP 1 (To skip this step if using coloured card stocks.)
Use watercolour and paint ombre tone on one side of the card.
Keep it aside and let dry.
STEP 2
Print the template as provided in A4 size paper.
Scale in 100%.
Lay the printed template on top of the card stock and place a cork mat or coaster at the bottom.
STEP 3
Use a needle and poke holes.
Follow the dotted lines as printed in the template as a guide.
STEP 4
After you have completed all the holes, remove the template and you will see the heart shaped as below.
STEP 5
Now you are ready to sew.
Choose any colours of the thread you like and start sewing crisscross.
Yarn will have a better effect as it's thicker and will create a more 3D feel, however if you are unable to find any yarn at home, simply just use sewing thread.
STEP 6
Once you done with the sewing, fold the card into half and your card is ready for you to pen your heartfelt message to the one you love!
This craft is simple and easy to make yourself and suitable for kids above 7 years. Just supervise your kids when they handle the needle and assist them when necessary.
You can also try out various heart & stars shapes in the template. This is a great ideas for any occasions and to spread love.
